Breiten ist situated in the center of the Aletsch region, the heart of the protected natural park Jungfrau-Aletsch-Bietschhorn, shich has been admitted to the Unesco world heritage egister in December of 2001 It is the only region in the Alps which this honour has been bestowed You will find other informations about the Unesco world heritage on the special site www.weltnaturerbe.ch.
